Dr. Stevan Petrović is from Serbia and received a degree in Veterinary Science from the University of Belgrade, Serbia, and a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2013. Since then he has worked as a field veterinarian in Serbia, mainly responsible for diagnosis and treatment, nutrition and other veterinary-related tasks of pigs, poultry, pets and other farm animals. He worked as the veterinarian in charge of the Veterinary Pharmacy Department of the largest veterinary drug sales company in Serbia for nearly two years. Since 2016 he has worked at ADDCON GmbH. Stevan has also published several articles on the application of diformates in swine and poultry.
It is well known that good intestinal health is effective in combating enteric pathogens, a strategy that requires the reduction of growth-promoting antibiotics in the feed. Establishing and maintaining a healthy intestinal environment has become a critical part of the feeding program. This report discusses the effects of adding diformates and third-generation acidifiers, which contain medium-chain fatty acids, to pigs' drinking water and feed on the health and growth performance of pigs. It also reports on Gram-positive bacteria and viruses. latest test results. These additives not only create a healthy gut, but also become an integral part of every farm's biosecurity plan by reducing zoonotic pathogen pressure in the pork production chain.
